The spatial continuity was interesting to see. I liked seeing the different patterns for editing a scene in a narrative film. I had not ever thought it was so complicated, I knew it wasn’t easy, but I never would have guessed this much work was put into it. I liked how we saw the different shots, and in what movies they were used in.
Today in class, we went over more techniques and once again, I was so overwhelmed. What I thought was interesting was the cameras used and how steady they were. It was cool to see how and where the camera man moved and then watch the clip he had just filmed. even though the Swedish show was beyond weird.
I was completely overwhelmed by the different techniques and shots we went over in class tonight. There are so many different shots and techniques involved and i thought the list would never end. And then the list didn’t end because we have to go ver more next class! The video about how all movies are remixes was very amusing and 100% true. It was cool to see how everything originated from other things that came before. Very interesting.
Since we did not have class, I spent my Wednesday with my sister and we drove to my ranch to celebrate Thanksgiving with my family. I had driven back home to Corpus Christi on Tuesday, just to stay at my house for a night, the next day, I was off to the ranch.
After learning that movies were rewritten, canceled, or postponed, I thought that was a little ridiculous. I understand that what happened was extremely awful, but the fact that things were canceled and changed is just stupid in my mind.
In class, we finished learning about the victual structure. The visual progression was interesting about how it goes from simple to complex. I thought it was cool how it began as one thing and changed into something else.
Learning about how lighter objects appear closer and darker objects appear farther away really fascinated me because I hadn’t ever really noticed the difference, but once I saw the two pictures, it made it very clear how different they are. I liked the picture with the hallway because it was so cool to actually see the difference side by side.
Your second test was kind of, ehhh.. I studied for it and I thought I knew the material, but of course i got a C! Better luck next time I guess. I really have enjoyed this poster project. It’s fun and I’m excited to see others. It took me forever to choose a picture because I couldn’t decide if I wanted to use myself or somebody else. Hopefully, you’ll enjoy my poster.
Honestly, learning about the different lenses and things to do with the camera confused me like crazy, but I thought it was interesting because I never understood why the photographers on the sidelines used such a giant lens. I always thought they looked silly but now that I know why they use them, it makes more sense. I liked looking at the different pictures, starting with Vietnam and the 60s, going to the 2000s.
I loved seeing how cartoons have progressed from the first cartoon to now. It’s weird to see that caricatures started with cave drawings, but it would be pretty fun to find a caricature inside of a cave after all of these years. I never knew that the Addams Family was started by a humorous cartoon.
